Appreciate the comments on Regents Canal, which brings back a pleasant memory. I rented a place on Arlington Avenue in Islington once, and the canal walk was just out the back door. Great place for a walk and seemed to be the quickest hoof up to Angel station.
Just took a look at Arlington Ave on the map, and a) very nice! and b) yes, the canal would be a more pleasant and slightly faster way to the Angel station. One day on my runs on the longer trip around March, I tried exiting the canal walkway early to cut back faster to the house I have been staying at, and it was longer! Cheers.
Nice post Tony...enhancing my hankering for a visit to London again...a great city....and iD and The Face still going strong...fantastic! You were lucky to be able to photograph the Dylan pieces...not allowed at the exhibition we saw in Cooperstown last year...coming from Dylan we suspected as the rest of the Fenimore was open to any photography. Great show from the multitalented man:
I did ask before taking photos at the Dylan exhibit and they were perfectly happy for me to do so. It was the same gallery that had Warhol soup cans last year, about as posh and high-end as it comes in London, and they let me take pictures there as well.
The Face had a very long hiatus... It is a new mag under new ownership. I am curious about iD as I did not realize it was still going, but it appears to be the case!
And personally, I don't mind how often you mention the football, as long as you mention the team in question!
I think iD is also a relaunch in a ‘luxury magazine’ format. It seems to be the way to go for print media - so long as there’s still a monthly fix of Shindig, Prog, Mojo, Uncut etc (when I can afford one or two!)
Thanks Ian, I was definitely wondering about iD. It's interesting that there is money in these mags (inc. The Face and Arena) as brands, despite the fact that a current audience for The Face might barely have known the magazine's existence previously - except, I guess, for the fact that the publishers helped get that exhibition together that I wrote about earlier this year.
The new Snapped Ankles is so good! I would love to see them.
Thank you for the shout out (and purchase) of Shindig! magazine.
Absolutely, and not the first time here either. It's a great mag.

And sorry to mention the football but once again Congratulations to your team.
Cheers Tom

There's nothing quite like having a fresh magazine in your hands.
Or ten!
