Such a beautiful post, Tony. Love to Ruth, and have a lovely Easter.
I’ll listen to your version of ‘I’m a Boy’ today. The song was one of my first gateways to The Who too ( as was Meaty Beaty).
I couple of other takeaways for me. I must learn more about music theory. My partner Jane and I plan to learn to play guitar this year, so that will help (as well as helping with mental and physical agility, which is increasingly important for us).
Oh and ... Seagulls 😮 (my father was from Brighton). I have been to Selhurst once, a midweek match decades ago.
Thanks for the Entwistle posts too. I’m just finishing reading the authorised biography - something of an eye opener for me. I didn’t know a couple Who tours were to get him out of a financial hole.
Cheers Ian, I am glad you are enjoying everything. I always think a little bit of music theory is helpful as long as you don't only play by its rules. 'I'm A Boy' is a great example of the most simplistic chord structure offset by a complex instrumental middle section. I-IV-V is the basic chord patterns that will get you through the blues and a lot of rock music. If A major is your I, D major and E Major are your IV and V. Glad you enjoyed Entwistle as well, Ill forgive you being a Brighton fan.!
Thank you Denise, the article seemed to touch a lot of people judging by the e0mails I also received. Being on a totally different time zone, you were one of the first to respond. We had a great day.
What a wonderful tribute Tony. Happy birthday to your mum and great job on the Pete song!
A lovely account !
A touching glimpse of a remarkable woman. Sounds like the sabbatical is proceeding nicely.

I do remember your Mum coming to pick up Jamming! and being totally impressed that a JP would muck in!
Blessings. Thanks for sharing, Tony.
A beautiful, soul-enriching post, Tony. Many blessings to Ruth. Milestone times indeed - and Paula’s first trip to your ‘mother land’! xx
