When Boris Johnson became PM in Dec 19, immigration to the U.K. was 788,000. When he left in Sept 22, this figure had risen to 1,192,000, an increase of over 50%. Why does Tony call Johnson anti-immigration ? Tories are usually pro immigration because it keeps down the wages of those already here, something that most of my fellow Leftists don't seem to understand. Anyway, please give me your answer Tony.

Hey there... One of the great things about Substack vs. X and FB is that the absolute vast majority of people are registered under their real names. This allows for transparency and helps avoid some of the nastiness and potential trolling that afflicts conventional social media. I do believe that yours is the first comment I have received from anyone using an alias. To that end, would you please provide your real name and your "fellow Leftist" credentials? Thank you.

Come on Tony. You can't make completely unsubstantiated claims and when a reader challenges them with real world numbers, ignore them because they use an alias. Some might say that you're dodging but perhaps you need a day or so to check my numbers and revise your article appropriately? You've written quite a good article (I was a RAR organiser) but if you want credibility then it has to be accurate or your opponents will pick on the inaccurate points and use that to rubbish the whole thing.

I won't be engaging further. I will leave your comments up for anyone and all to reach their own conclusions; if you persist in anonymously posting however you will merely confirm my suspicions and your comments will be removed. Respectfully.

For various reasons I can't do that Tony. However, it's a very reasonable question and the facts would appear to contradict your statement in the essay. I'd be grateful if you'd answer please. BTW the Blue doesn't reflect the Tories but Manchester City.

"Police And Thieves" is a song that is still sadly relevant (and not just in England or Jamaica). I prefer Murvin's version- Lee "Scratch" Perry was a marvelous producer.

Ah, they are both incredible versions... The Clash one for, and I was quoting Strummer in CLash on Broadway to the best of my memory, its sheer "audacity."

And Junior Murvin's for being so beautiful while singing about something so ugly. Agree with you about Perry, who I researched in depth for a paper I wrote on dub last year.
